Workshop Manager/Bike Mechanic Position Now available!

We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager/Mechanic who is friendly/approachable to staff and customers and also have extremely high standards of workmanship. Being a major dealer of quality brands, you will be expected to have at least 3 years of experience or more with high-end groupsets including Di2, AXS, e-bikes, etc... Experience with suspension forks, dropper posts, and wheel-building is preferred for this Management position.

Defined Roles & Responsibilities We would see this candidate to have strong self-management skills, to set themselves and others tasks that can be fulfilled and executed on a daily/monthly basis. It's imperative that this person can communicate/present extremely well when customer-facing and educating bikeNOW staff while having the drive to empower all workshop staff to deliver excellent service. You'll be expected to lead by example and work also on the tools as the lead mechanic.

  • Workshop booking/calendar structure for both online and in-store

  • To conduct morning and afternoon workshop meetings on a group level and to deliver team goals, calendar booking updates, and customer exceptions for the day

  • To meet and exceed KPIs set across all mechanics/workshop

  • To meet monthly staff training/education targets

  • Able to create, structure, implement new processes and procedures for the betterment of customers engagement and experiences in-store and online

  • To conduct rolling stock-takes on spare parts and consumables with ongoing inventory management

  • To have strong brand knowledge and mechanical aptitude/skills

  • Ensuring all Workshop Staff including yourself are adhering to the processes and procedures currently put in place

  • To deliver monthly reporting amongst senior staff under a defined template, that highlights wins and losses for the month and creative actions put in place by you in order to help improve upon losses for the future

  • Ability to engage in a fun lighthearted manner in making learning enjoyable for those you are responsible for

  • Ability to travel to Lake Mountain to train and oversee LMAR staff

  • Must have at least 3 years employed as a Bike Mechanic (not a home mechanic)

  • To maintain an ongoing level of product/mechanical training e.g. SBCU, S-tech, STU

  • To work autonomously and at a high pace of quality performance in a busy workshop environment, while working as a team

  • To always be clean and well presented not just personally but in your workmanship

  • Communication towards customers is concise, professional, and delivered in a prompt manner across all platforms

  • Ensuring there is open, clear, and transparent communication towards all management and staff at bikeNOW
