AusCycling is the nation’s peak riding and cycling body, representing more than 5 million Australians who ride bikes. Formed in 2020 from 19 state, territory, and national bodies, AusCycling is responsible for programs, projects and initiatives that encompass BMX, Track, Mountain Bike, Road, Para and recreational.

Team Purpose
AusCycling’s Sport Pillar oversees Club support and development; events and racing; education and accreditation programs; competition rules and athlete pathways program (pre-performance).
Position Purpose
The Victorian Operations Manager plays an important leadership and stakeholder management role in Victoria. In partnership with members of the AusCycling Executive Leadership Team, the Victorian Operations Manager is responsible for driving the implementation of AusCycling’s annual operations plan for Victoria and the management of key government relationships. The focus for the role includes club support and development initiatives, participation and volunteer growth, community engagement, events, racing, junior pathways and the promotion of a range of education programs.
Responsibilities
Club Support and Development
Maintain strong relationships with Clubs and identify opportunities to support the ongoing growth and development of the Club network through the range of AC programs, products and services.
Contribute to the ongoing development, evolution and enhancement of AC Club development programs and initiatives.
Promote and encourage Club involvement in AC and local government sport and recreation club development initiatives.
State / Territory Advisory Committee (STAC)
In liaison with the STAC Chair, coordinate the activities of the STAC as per the Charter.
Participation Growth
Promote and support the “on the ground delivery” of AusCycling’s participation programs in Victoria.
Events and Racing
Lead the delivery of Victoria’s Competition Calendar across all disciplines (Championships, Series and Open).
Lead relationships with private event organisers (competition and recreation).
Provide administrative support for Victoria’s level competitions and series.
Where required, support the delivery of major, National or international events.
Review and approval (sanction) of all Victorian and Club events.
Support Clubs to ensure the safe and fair delivery of their competitions.
Supporting key individual in their role (State Handicapper and Technical Delegates).
Lead Victoria’s event review and reporting.
Education
Promote and support the “on the ground delivery” of AusCycling’s education and accreditation programs.
Pathways
Support the delivery of the Victorian Teams, Squads or Academies.
Sponsorship
In consultation with the EGM Commercial, identify opportunities to secure new sponsorships in Victoria.
Manage all sponsorship deliverables for Victorian partnerships.
Government Relations
Maintain strong relationship with key AusCycling stakeholders in Victoria including State Government Departments and local Institute / Academy where relevant.
Contribute to the development of annual Victorian sport and recreation grant submissions, acquittals, and reports.
Other
Contribute to the annual operational planning and budget process.
Contribute to the collection of data to support the measurement of key KPIs.
Safeguard the integrity of AusCycling and ensure continued compliance with environmental, healthand safety and quality requirements within the state or territory.

Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in sport management favourable.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Demonstrated collaborative leadership style and volunteer management experience.
Strong communication skills, including verbally and in writing, and the ability to advocate, represent, influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts should they arise.
Experience establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating community events and programs.

Mandatory Requirements
Working with Children’s Check clearance from the relevant authority;
Satisfactory Police Check (in the absolute discretion of the Company); and
Satisfactory No Doping Declaration (in the absolute discretion of the Company).
Notes
This role requires the incumbent to hold and maintain a Working with Children Clearance, along with a drivers license. Due to the timing of AusCycling events, this role also requires flexibility in work hours including being available to work weekends, public holidays and out of hours’ work as necessary (to support events).
