This role is responsible for a broad range of daily accounting and reporting functions for Trek Australia's retail businesses.
Position Responsibilities
Executes month end close and forecast - 25%
Preparation of the monthly retail store profit and loss and balance sheet including all reconciliations ( e.g. prepayments, accruals)
Preparation and ownership of capital expenditure budget and maintenance of fixed asset register
Investigate and provide context to variances in accounts and update YTD forecast as required
Ensure financial controls and processes are followed - 25% Business partnering- accountable for financial performance and controls of Trek owned retail stores - 50%
Hold fortnightly calls with store manager to: resolve variances in inventory, cash and general controls
Hold monthly calls with district managers on financial performance
Drive cost savings across the Trek owned retail stores
Report on financial performance of the Trek owned retail stores to financial controller
Implementation of the business plan and other projects as required
Essential Skills/Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
minimum 2 years post qualification experience
Demonstrates the ability to deliver quality hospitality with a proactive and positive communication
Collaborative team player, proactive problem solver and have highly developed analytical skills with the ability to extract data from financial systems and provide insights and recommendations
Strong MS office skills
