Membership coordinator - Melbourne

  • Do you thrive on providing high-level customer service and support?

  • Are you confident engaging with customers over the phone and in person?

  • Work for a health and sustainability-driven for-purpose organisation with over 35 years of experience!

  • Part-time role (0.8 FTE) with choice of working days and working hours between 10am to 6pm

  • Great salary + 6 weeks annual leave (pro-rata) + bike packaging + Bicycle Network membership + MORE!

We believe in liveable places where people are physically active - that's why we make it easier to ride a bike.

About Bicycle Network

Bicycle Network believes that physical activity & sustainable transport is vital for a happy, healthy community – that’s why we make it easier for everyone to ride a bike. We support and service the needs of nearly 50,000 members, thousands of event participants and the general bike riding community across Australia.

We're pedalling hard to build a nation of bikes riders and we have an exciting opportunity for a Membership Coordinator to join us in our team, based from our Melbourne CBD office!

About the Opportunity

As our Membership Coordinator, you’ll play a core role in supporting our almost 50,000 members taking part in our exceptional memberships program where members are highly engaged.

With a focus on outbound call campaigns, you'll be engaging with our members, supporting renewal activities and Riders' Rights support.

You'll need to be comfortable and confident engaging with our members both over-the-phone and in-person, and skilled at thinking on your feet, in order to best respond to Member queries or issues.

You'll also work with the wider Bicycle Network team to move towards a healthier, happier and more sustainable community.

How you'll do that:

  • Support membership operations and membership retention strategy

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of membership customer journeys

  • Provide timely and accurate responses to members enquiries, via phone, email and website

  • Provide exceptional support to members through our insurance and legal support services

  • Make sure our membership records are accurate and up-to-date

  • Get involved in our wider organisational activities, such as events and activations

  • Anything else that comes up (hey we’re an adaptable organisation that helps each other, so we can’t be constrained by what’s in this ad).

Our Membership Champion...

is engaging, supportive and driven to do the best by our Members.

How you'll enhance our team:

  • Being a team player who is resilient, adaptable and persistent

  • Experience in customer service, and outbound call campaigns

  • Commitment to tackle any challenge and passionately pursue our purpose

  • Honesty and an ability to tell it straight, with tact

  • A valid Working With Children Check (or a willingness to obtain);

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 (or hold a valid medical exemption).

It would also be cool (but not required) if you had CRM and excel skills and an understanding of insurance products and claims processes.

While this role is based in our Melbourne CBD office, there are options for hybrid working conditions. Importantly, the role will also require some travel within Victoria and interstate for events and activations.

Experience within not-for-profits, sports, or health organisations would be beneficial, but are not essential. We aim to be committed, honest, inclusive, and progressive in all we do. You don't have to ride, but believing in an active future is a must for us!

Bicycle Network is committed to ensuring our team represents the diversity of our community. Women, indigenous people, people with a disability, young people, gender diverse people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. How We've Got Your Back!

  • Earn $48,800 - $51,200 plus 10.5% super (commensurate with experience) PLUS;

  • Bike packaging (salary packaging, but for bikes!);

  • 6 weeks annual leave (pro-rata);

  • Professional development and emotional wellbeing support subscriptions;

  • Hire car discounts;

  • Negotiable flexible work arrangements; and

  • Negotiable co-funding for study!
