What are we looking for

The opportunity is for a bicycle expert to handle claims and customer service. The role will take ownership of technical bicycle, personal liability and other related insurance claims; including client queries, communications with suppliers, assisting with existing and potential partner relationships and providing relevant information to customers

What you will do

Bicycle Insurance Claims

  • Assist with the investigation and settlement of all technical and high-risk claims

  • Manage all reinsurance/recovery claims to ensure that the company recovers claims costs where appropriate

  • Ensure that salvage is collected, delivered, captured into our system, and sold at the most competitive price

  • The investigation and settlement of all claims in line with the PDS, to ensure that claims cost is kept within target

Customer Service

  • Constantly remain in contact with clients, and responding to clients regarding incoming insurance claims, information requests, updates or renewals of policies

  • Remain in contact with service providers to build ongoing relationships, and maintain communication throughout the claims process

  • Responding to customer insurance queries in a timely and professional manner

  • Investigating, resolving or escalating all customer complaints

Local Partnership Relationships

  • Assist senior management with strategic growth through existing and potential partner relationships (incl. bike shops, suppliers, carbon repair, new commercial partnerships)

  • Daily interaction with local bicycle shops and other suppliers to ensure that Velosure is a partner of choice

  • Attending industry events and exhibitions to grow brand awareness and identify new potential partners

  • Any ad hoc projects and tasks that management requests from you from time to time

Key Requirements

  • At least 5 years bicycle industry experience (retail or technical)

  • Sound knowledge of claims administration procedures will be an added advantage

  • Undergraduate business administration or commercial degree would be an advantage

  • Good administrative skills

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written English)

  • Effective organisation skills

  • High level of output

  • Strong customer focus
