DG Cycle Co is a leading bicycle shop providing high quality Mountain bike, Gravel, Road and family bikes to Orange and surrounds. We also specialise in electric bicycles and all forms of bicycle maintenance. We have recently moved into a more prominent location and have expanded our operations and require a new mechanic to become a part of our team to continue providing the best service to our customers.
Orange is a great destination for all kinds of cyclists, we have some of the best mountain biking in NSW and a lot of interesting rides for both gravel and road riders.
Description of position:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic who has excellent problem solving skills and is confident in dealing with customers and their needs. This position will combine both repair and maintenance with building of new bikes and sales assistance.
Key Responsibilities & Abilities:
Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic and a great understanding of the fundamentals of bicycle mechanics as well as knowledge of emerging technologies such as ebikes and electric drivetrains.
Perform high level bike repairs such as gear tuning, brake adjustments, bearing replacements, wheel truing.
Locate and diagnose problems on a wide spectrum of bicycles.
Have knowledge on how to record the appropriate parts and labour used in a repair.
Keep your workspace clean.
Assist customers in finding the right bike, accessories, and gear to suit their needs and preferences.
Handle sales transactions, process payments, and maintain accurate sales records.
Maintain knowledge of current bike models, accessories, and industry trends.
Be capable of solving problems autonomously.
A mechanic will be required to work 5 days a week but exceptions will be made for the right candidate. This is a flexible arrangement which can be spoken about once hired. A very competitive wage will also be offered to the right candidate after a 3 month probation period has been served.
