For over 40 years Solve-TAD have been a valued stakeholder in the disability services sector, enabling our clients to achieve their goals through the:
Design and construction of custom assistive technology otherwise commercially unavailable;
Modification of commercially available equipment to suit clients’ individual needs;
Freedom Wheels customised Bike Service; and
Provision of specialised technical advice to clients
The Role
We have a full time opportunity for an experienced bike mechanic who will plan, administer and execute the Freedom Wheels bike manufacturing activities to optimise resource use, minimise costs and maintain quality standards. Duties include:
Lead a small multi-skilled team of workshop volunteers to deliver a consistently high quality product that meets customer expectations
Provide hands on practical involvement in the day-to-day bike workshop operations as required
Oversee Workplace Health and Safety in the bike workshop, ensuring all workers are completing work in a safe manner in line with company and industry standards;
Plan and manage production flow and scheduling to ensure bike delivery times meet service standards
Collaborate with customer-facing staff to identify product innovations that will improve and increase the scope of what we deliver
Quality control and troubleshoot to ensure bikes are consistently built to a high standard and meet customer expectations
Manufacture custom components for Freedom Wheels bikes and lead development of innovative improvements to the Freedom Wheels Bike range.
Upload information to Salesforce database as required to ensure interruptions to opportunity pipeline are documented and clear to all
Oversee management of Freedom Wheels stock and inventory and bi-annual stock take of Freedom Wheels components
Maintain a positive, collaborative and enthusiastic workplace culture, leading by example and providing guidance on technical problems
You will have experience working as a Bike Mechanic preferable with a similar qualification.
We are looking for someone with initiate who works well within a small team. You will have the opportunity to lead a team of passionate volunteers, who, along with our Occupational Therapist and support staff will ensure every bike is of outstanding quality and tailored to the customers needs and abilities. You will be an integral part of maintaining a positive, collaborate and enthusiastic workplace culture by leading by example. Experience in and knowledge of Work Health Safety and Safe Work Practices will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check as well as an NDIS screening Check.
