While we have close to 80 staff located across Australia, Asia, United States and Europe. This role is based in our Frenchs Forest, Sydney headquarters. Our team here works from Monday to Friday so that we can ride bikes on the weekend!
What You'll Do
The bicycle mechanic is responsible for servicing and repairing returned bikes from customers. As an online retailer, bicycles are returned for a number of reasons including warranty purposes. However, we do not provide ongoing servicing of bicycles for our retail customers. Typical duties involve identifying problems, developing and proposing solutions to mechanical defects and performing repairs to facilitate the return of the bike to the customer or preparing it for resale.
Support for the return or resale process is required, including packaging and boxing the bicycle, photographing the bike and providing input as requested to repricing. The mechanic team also plays a crucial role in supporting the warranty team by providing repairs and assessing technical investigations. Collaborative efforts between the mechanic and warranty teams are necessary to gather factory assembly feedback and improve product quality. Reporting to the Warranty & Workshop Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assemble new bicycles
Repair and rebuild bicycles
Receive and assess returned products for repair or warranty purposes
Attend to the full range of minor and major bicycle repairs
Assessing, identifying faults and cosmetic blemishes
Install, repair and replace equipment and accessories
Managing stock of returned bikes and products, including pricing and uploading of WIP / returned bikes for sale
Assistance with managing available warehouse space
Maintaining a safe and effective work space
Monitoring repair inventory
Prepare bikes for marketing shoots
Liaise with customer service teams
Create product listings on website
Liaise and support warranty team for repairs
Assist with OEM parts team to receive, process and audit stock
Other tasks as required

What You'll Have
No formal education is mandatory for the job, but having a recognised qualification in bike maintenance is an advantage.
Solid experience in bike mechanics across a range of makes and models, including eBikes
Proven ability to assess bikes to determine problems, solutions and the economic viability of repair or resale
Confident computer skills
