One of our programs is the supply of customised bicycles and trikes to children and young adults through our Freedom Wheels program. This enables them to participate in the everyday activity of bike riding that is often taken for granted.

We are seeking a mechanically experienced person to join us part time in the role of Freedom Wheels Technician and Workshop Assistant.

You will need an understanding of the body mechanics of cycling.

Duties will include the following:

  • Conduct assessments in conjunction with an Occupational Therapist

  • Initiate Purchase Orders of bicycles, trikes and adaptation equipment.

  • Complete the customisation process of commercially purchased bicycles and trikes by fitting of prescribed supports and other equipment.

  • Conduct final fitting and adjustment of bicycles and trikes.

  • Maintaining existing quotation and parts ordering systems using Microsoft Excel.

  • Perform maintenance on bicycles such as adjustment of brakes, bicycle assembly and disassembly.

  • Tyre and wheel adjustments

  • Washng, lubrication and adjustment of gears etc.

  • Some component welding.

And as if that is not enough, we would like you to be willing to assist in other workshop and equipment duties .
