We're seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Pushys Fyshwick, a leading bricks-and-mortar bike shop in Canberra. As a key member of our management team, you'll play a vital role in driving sales, managing stock, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing the store
- Manage rostering, staff supervision, and training
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, providing expert advice and guidance on our range of bikes and accessories
- Drive sales and revenue growth through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer engagement
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and clearance, ensuring optimal inventory levels
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe store environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Hire, train, and develop new staff members to ensure exceptional customer service
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and technologies, particularly in MTB and road bike categories
- Assist with bike workshops and servicing, as required (previous experience preferred)
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in the bike industry, preferably in a management or supervisory role
- Proven experience in people management, customer service, and sales
- Strong knowledge of MTB and road bikes, with a passion for cycling
- Experience with bike workshops and servicing (desirable)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
